Leyland Albion Under 16's
Season Details:
This coming season (2020/21) the team will be taking part in the Central Lancs Junior Football League. The league at under 16 is played on a league basis with scores recorded and points awarded, in line with FA regulations. All league games are played on Sundays from the first week in September through till May. Unlike the younger age groups, results, scores or match reports for U16's can be published on this or any other website or social media.
Selection Policy:
The format for football at under 16's is 11 a side, playing time will be determined on a few aspects, attitude, effort, attendance and also fitness. These are based on the clubs players Code of Conduct. A team ethic is very important to this team and each player should be playing for the team, as we win, lose and draw as a team - this has proven to give the team a real sense of achievement and togetherness.
The matches will be 40 minutes each way and will still utilise a "roll on roll off" substitute system. Some players may play more than others, however this is not due to ability or form but more importantly by attitude and behavior in training, pre-match warm ups and the actual game itself.
Quite often during winter the pitches are waterlogged or frozen and are unfit to play. When this happens we will try to arrange training or friendlies on a local 3G pitch. This enables every child to continue playing all year round. As this is a team booking and not a club booking, the hire of the pitch is not covered by your annual subscription but is payable separately.
Note to new parents of potentially unsigned players (training only):
We encourage any player (of the correct age) to come to training as opportunities to be signed-on at a Leyland Albion team can arise throughout the season, where required.
During the season any unsigned players will be included in any/all team outings. Additional matches are usually arranged during winter (either indoor or on all-weather 3G pitches), when there are no schedule league games and all the way through the summer months too to try out what has been practiced in training.
